"Clinton said on Friday evening [September 9 2016] that you could put half of of the Republican presidential nominee's supporters in a "basket of deplorables," which she said would include racists, xenophobes, and homophobes."
Saturday, September 10 she walked back part of her statement:
"But, following a firestorm of backlash, Clinton released a statement saying her comments were 'grossly generalistic,' and that she regretted denigrating 'half'' of Trump's supporters."
Kaiser Wilhelm II allegedly called Britain's forces "a contemptible little army."
The BEF ran with that, calling themselves the Old Contemptibles.
It didn't work out for the Kaiser, and it may not for Hillary Clinton.
Then on Sunday, September 11 2016 at Ground Zero ceremonies Hillary Clinton followed up her self-inflicted wound with a "medical event."
She was taken to her daughter Chelsea's apartment, and emerged later in the day to announce she felt great.
Then later in the day the Clinton Campaign released a note from her doctor that Hillary had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.
As Zero Hedge asked: isn't pneumonia contagious? Yet she was fundraising and politicking Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
